77th Great Swabian Art Exhibition

29.11.2025 – 22.03.2026 at Kunsthalle Augsburg im Glaspalast

The 77th Great Swabian Art Exhibition continues an exceptionally vibrant tradition – an exhibition that has been showcasing the artistic pulse of Bavarian Swabia for decades and highlighting the diversity of regional contemporary art. For the 77th edition, the BBK Schwaben-Nord and Augsburg have once again succeeded in bringing together an impressive range of artistic expressions – from painting, graphic art, and sculpture to photography, installation art, and media art.

As in previous years, a jury of experts selected 106 works of art by 90 artists from all over Swabia for the exhibition from 233 applications received this year. The result is a high-quality and surprisingly diverse overview exhibition that once again goes far beyond a mere showcase of works: it is a multifaceted panorama of artistic positions, a mirror of social issues, and at the same time a place of aesthetic debate.

The current edition also marks a special chapter in the history of the Great Swabian Art Exhibition. For the first time, it is being held in H2 of the Kunsthalle Augsburg in the Glaspalast, the larger of the two exhibition halls. Covering an area of 1,600 square meters, the presentation unfolds with a new spatial generosity, creating an impressive stage for the art of our time. The interplay of the works with the characteristic spatial architecture of the light-flooded hall enters into an intense dialogue here, allowing visitors to experience form, material, and idea in depth.
