Monika Mendat - Changes in time

04.11.2022-05.02.2023 at the Café and Liebertzimmer at Schaezlerpalais

The most recent pictures by the artist Monika Mendat are characterized by circular and seemingly organic forms. They foam up amorphously, glowing in cosmic explosions that seem to burst the boundaries of the picture. It is a new world of abstraction, in which one believes oneself transported into a transformation of the earthly limited.
Whether it was the Baroque age or the ruptures of modernity, there have always been turning points – it is a constant new beginning. In her work cycle ZEITENWENDE, Monika Mendat examines the changes in our world and expands them into the cosmic. With her new works she opens up a transformed world beyond crises, wars and other catastrophes. ZEITENWENDE therefore also marks a new phase in the painter's work, which is very topical.
