Romantisches SchwabenColonel Franz Gallus Weber (1794-1876)

07/14-11/26/2023 at Grafisches Kabinett

The Grafische Sammlung in the Schaezlerpalais holds a special treasure of 250 drawings and watercolours created in a romantic style by the artillery officer and "Sunday painter" Franz Gallus Weber. So far, the name of this talented draughtsman has not been found in any artist's encyclopaedia. Only in 1981 did a small exhibition take place in the Schaezlerpalais. The almost photographically accurate works offer the opportunity to rediscover Augsburg and Swabia in the mid-19th century. For much of what Gallus Weber drew is no longer preserved today.

A warm invitation to the opening to all interested parties on Thursday, 13 July, at 6 pm!
