Since summer 2022, "Urban Sketchers" have been meeting once a month in Augsburg in front of once a month in front of Elias Holl's buildings to draw together, to show the astonishingly many! - buildings with pencil, fineliner or watercolour, that have survived from Holl's time to this day. It is a non-coercive community: everyone is welcome, everything is allowed - regardless of previous knowledge, personal style or age.

At the end of the meetings, the sketches are laid out for everyone to look at and - due to their heterogeneity and heterogeneity and immediacy - to be admired by all. Simultaneously with the large municipal exhibition on the occasion of the 450th birthday of Elias Holl, the municipal art collections will be showing a "best-of" selection of the Urban Sketchers' drawings. The sketches, which were all made in front of Holl's buildings, are surprising in their diversity, techniques and possibilities. A motif can be quickly snapped with a mobile phone, but those who sketch and spend and immerses oneself in a motif for one or two hours, one observes and experiences architecture, the surroundings, the location more individually and intensively.
